Talking About Death Won’t Make it Happen Sooner

One of the biggest fears I hear is, "If we talk about death, does that mean we're giving up… or somehow making it happen sooner?" The answer is no. Of course not. But it can feel that way. The truth is, talking about death doesn't cause it, invite it, or speed it up. It simply allows us to prepare with intention, share what matters most, and make sure our wishes are known. In fact, these conversations often bring relief rather than fear. They create space for honesty, connection, and peace of mind. We don't have to choose between hope and preparation. We can hold both at the same time. Some of the most meaningful conversations happen when we're brave enough to talk about what matters, even when it's difficult.
